Managing the pressure-performance curve

In a transformational journey managing the pressure-performance curve is crucial. Yes, some pressure is needed to create action, but too much pressure or for too long, leads to fatigue or worse. It's helpful to have a common language to assess the current organizational level, as well as the different business areas, teams, individuals, and yourself.
It helps to intervene where needed and to calibrate back to the right balance. Of course, it's not realistic to be in the optimal zone all the time. Sometimes, there is a crisis that requires all hands on deck and to temporarily operate in a yellow-strain zone. But by recognizing the strain organizations, teams and individuals can work to minimize the time spent in this zone. The level of pressure vs.
performance is also helpful in assessing when the pressure is too low (for too long) and boredom kicks in. How do you manage where you are individually on the curve, your team, and your organization?
