Get things done with TADAL

in organisations? It all comes down to optimising five steps: Think, Align, Decide, Act, Land.
- Think. Not too much, but also not too little. Overthinking leads to paralysis by analysis; underthinking leads to shooting from the hip.
- Align. Align with the right stakeholders for input and buy-in. Align with too many, and you create a debate society. Align with too few, and you risk “not-invented-here” resistance.
- Decide. Make decisions that are robust but not rigid. Break them down where needed and refine as you learn. Not deciding is also a decision, and deciding too completely too early can stifle adaptability.
- Act. Bias toward action. The status quo is always a strong opposing force. But don’t bring a bazooka to every situation; act with calibrated conviction.
- Land. The art is crossing the finish line. Don’t stop too early because new priorities arise, but also don’t continue initiatives long after their shelf life has expired. What’s fascinating is how different organisations, and their leaders, naturally skew toward certain steps, for example:
- Parcel delivery companies excel at Act and Land.
- Consultancies tend to over-invest in Think. And leaders, too, each have their personal bias across the five. A powerful question to regularly ask yourself is: which of the five steps do I need to do more of, and which less, to truly get things done? ...meer
